Make a quilt
We have pre-cut kits available complete with fabric and pattern instructions. If you have machine sewing experience, the kit will be fairly easy for you to complete. The kits are free! To request a kit please contact Carrie at [email protected] or text/call 631-764-1394
Patterns
We have four basic patterns available here /patterns.html
Donate a quilt
Are you already a quilter and have a quilt to donate? We will gladly accept it! We ask that all quilts be made from 100% cotton, machine sewn, and quilted every two to three inches including borders to withstand hospital laundering. We will accept any size quilt.
Donations of fabric, notions and other treasures
We rely solely on the generous donations from our community members and supporters for our sewing supplies. We are grateful to accept donations, keeping the following in mind: fabric must be new 100% cotton, 1/8"-1/4" batting (cotton, blend or poly), polyester or cotton thread, rotary cutting blades, gift cards and other sewing supplies.
Join Us
We have day and evening Sit and Sew workshops where you can meet other volunteers as we help make quilts for the children we comfort. All materials are provided to make a quilt, and we gladly welcome your help. Please check under What's Happening to see when you can join us.
Adopt a quilt
A financial donation of any sort will go toward the quilts given to children at our local hospitals, hospices and healthcare facilities across Long Island.
Spread the word
You may think it a small gesture, but spreading the word that Quilts For Kids is in need of fabric, funding and quilters will make all the difference in the world to us.
Thank you for wanting to help us turn tears into smiles with the gift of a patchwork quilt.
